This practical workplace course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to safely respond to small workplace fires using portable fire extinguishers and fire blankets.
It covers fire behaviour and fire classes, selecting the correct extinguisher for different types of fires, and safely using fire extinguishers and fire blankets through hands-on practical training focused on workplace confidence and capability.

Course Details
Participants in this course will learn how to effectively
- Apply WHS principles to workplace fire emergencies
- Understand basic fire dynamics and propagation in buildings
- Identify classes of fire
- Recognise different types of fire extinguishers
- Safely use fire blankets
- Respond to small workplace fires
- Operate a fire extinguisher correctly
On successful completion of this course, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion issued by Emertrix, recognising their skills and competency in using fire extinguishers and responding to small workplace fires.
Entry Requirements
Participants must have the physical capacity to complete all practical assessments, including being able to safely carry and operate a 9kg fire extinguisher
